Arjan Singh Bhullar was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on May 13th, 1986 as the middle child to brother Jora and sister Jasmin. Wrestling has a history in the Bhullar family. Father Avtar was the first to excel in both the traditional Indian style of wrestling (Kushti) and Olympic style wrestling. All 10 Bhullar boys were eventually put through the same rigorous training regimen in the Bhullar “Akhara“ (gym), built on the family farm. Equipment was scarce and sympathy non-existent; while work ethic and a desire to become the best abundant. This was the unofficial beginning for Team Bhullar.

Arjan was never a natural athlete, but what he lacked in ability he made up for in hard work and an unrelenting competitiveness. Having trained exclusively with the family through high school, Arjan was able to win multiple provincial and national high school championships. He went on to wrestle for wrestling powerhouse Simon Fraser University on a scholarship, while pursuing a degree in Political Science. Under the tutelage of Coach Justin Abdou and personal coach Nick Ugoalah, Arjan was able to win multiple national titles for Simon Fraser, as well as a Bronze medal at the University World Championships. While representing Simon Fraser University, Arjan was also able to make the National Team and represent Canada in over 30 countries around the world. His international success was highlighted by a Gold at the Commonwealth Games and a 12th place finish at the Olympic Games, where he became the first South Asian to represent Canada in the Olympics in Freestyle Wrestling.

Soon thereafter Arjan pursued his new dream of becoming a world champion in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. Arjan surrounded himself with world class coaches in Vancouver with Adam Ryan and Jay Jauncey. He also elected to join and represent the American Kickboxing Academy based in San Jose, California. After winning the Battlefield Fight League world title Arjan was signed by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), becoming the first fighter of South Asian descent in the company. Arjan won three out of the first four fights on his contract and entered free agency being represented by the largest talent agency in the world, CAA (Creative Artists Agency). After receiving offers from the UFC and other promotions, Arjan elected to continue his career as a MMA fighter within the Singapore based ONE Championship promotion. Arjan was soon able to realize his lifelong dream of becoming a world champion by defeating legend Brandon Vera for the heavyweight title. Arjan continue to train and is excited to compete in the professional wrestling arena, while continuing his work in the cage as well.

Being a true competitor and a champion is one part of Arjans story- living every aspect of his life as a Champion, is something he continues to work towards. Arjan has married his wife Neenu who supports his dreams in every way possible while raising their kids at the same time. Arjans focus continues to be to create a lasting legacy that his wife, children, and entire Bhullar family are proud of once the final chapter of his story has been written.
